The forthcoming 2020 Ford Bronco will finally arrive and it is officially confirmed. This iconic SUV will make its return in the midsize segment and it will available across the whole globe. The excitement is real as many car experts are predicting for Bronco to become an instant hit.
Bronco Raptor variant could produce even bigger excitement. Unlike the regular model, the Raptor model is not official but there is a good possibility for this version to happen. If it does, the already astonishing off-roader will become even more astonishing. According to Blue Oval carmaker, the 2020 Bronco will be a body-on-frame 4×4 SUV, made to tackle the toughest terrains. With that in mind, Bronco will tackle the Jeep Wrangler as well. But on the other hand, Ford Bronco will borrow plenty of cues from the Ranger pickup truck.
2020 Ford Bronco Exterior Design
The 2020 Ford Bronco will be based on both Ford Everest five-door SUV and Ranger pickup truck. Bronco will use a Ranger’s platform and Bronco is surely boxier than the Everest model. The overall design is far from the original Bronco model and it is, of course, more modern. The front grille sports a single horizontal bar and the round headlights are looking brilliant.
To the sides, the character line runs across the whole length of the vehicle. A tapered roof is similar to the roof of the Jeep Wrangler. Ford won’t offer 2020 Bronco as a two-door model, no way. Bronco will also arrive in a four-door variant as well. Just like the Wrangler, Blue Oval carmaker will most likely offer two wheelbase lengths.
Ford Ranger-Based Interior
Interestingly, even the interior will borrow plenty of design and features from the upcoming Ford Ranger. While we wait for the Ranger and the 2020 Ford Bronco to roll out, we don’t have a clear interior picture. We expect a center-mounted shifter with a rotary dial. For that reason, a four-wheel-drive is a very likely outcome.
Moreover, a large touchscreen and driver information display will be standard. Other modern amenities such as push-button start and keyless entry are going to be in the offer too. Either Bronco arrives as a two or four-door model, a five-seat configuration is certain. Expect astonishing comfort, especially on the upper trims which will offer leather upholstery.
Engine Specs
The all-new 2020 Ford Bronco will use a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. This unit can produce up to 325 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque. The same engine is powering the F-150 pickup. Moreover, with those figures, Bronco easily beats its rivals. But most importantly, it outperforms Jeep Wrangler that is delivering 285 horses. EcoBoost engine will be available with a 10-speed automatic transmission. A four-wheel-drive configuration will probably arrive as an optional system.
2020 Ford Bronco Raptor
Just like the Everest and Ranger models will get a Raptor variant, the same could happen with the Bronco. For now, it is just a possibility, but if it happens, Blue Oval will have to deploy powerful options. One of the options is the 2.7-liter V6 turbocharged unit that powers the 2019 Ford Edge ST. However, Ford is still mute on the Bronco Raptor plans.
2020 Ford Bronco Price and Release Date
Ford is still silent when it comes to pricing of this model. The 2020 Ford Bronco will for sure offer similar prices as the Jeep Wrangler. That means Bronco SUV could start at around $40,000. A possible Bronco Raptor variant will for sure cost some additional money, about $50,000. This model will arrive at the beginning of 2020.
