Ford’s Super Duty lineup is really impressive. And while most of the customers are buying Super Duty trucks for work, some people are buying it because of luxury. Of course, F-250 is far from luxurious model. However, the 2020 Ford F-250 Platinum definitely is. It is one of the upper trim levels that provides premium cabin and numerous upscale features.
Whatsoever, F-250 Limited is the only higher trim level. You can buy Platinum model in a crew cab variant with a room for five passengers. F-250 Platinum comes with a standard 6.2-liter V8 and its 4WD system. On top of that, this trim comes with some interesting optional packages and much more.
Optional Features
This specific trim level only have a couple of optional features. Basically, everything from the leather upholstery to the latest technologies is standard. The 2020 Ford F-250 Platinum is impressive in terms of safety and its cabin looks very premium. Still, if you want even more luxury, some amenities are optional.
That includes panoramic sunroof or sliding moonroof. Moreover, locking storage, all-weather floor mats and power-adjustable features are optional too. Adaptive steering wheel and Driver Assist Tech are the latest systems that are available. Front bucket seats are standard in the Platinum version and there will be room for five.
F-250 Platinum Packages
The upcoming 2020 Ford F-250 Platinum will also offer numerous packages. Everything starts with the FX4 Off-Road Package. It costs $400 and it adds hill descent control and skid plates. Basically, the off-road variant offers special suspension, shock absorbers, transfer case and much more.
Snow Plot Prep Package is available, just like the Pro Trailer Backup Assist. This package costs $1,150 and it comes with high capacity trailer, tow camera system and everything you need to get the work done.
The newest Tremor Off-Road Package is perhaps the most interesting thing you can buy. F-250 Tremor costs $3,405 and it can be loaded only in a crew cab variant. We already wrote about the F-250 Tremor model. Tremor adds new tires, larger gloss black aluminum wheels and off-road running boards. On top of that, new transfer case, skid plates and higher ride are all in the offer.
Three Engine Choices
Just like the base model, the 2020 Ford F-250 Platinum also has three powertrain options. Everything starts with a standard 6.2-liter V8 gasoline. This engine is capable of producing 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.
Optional gasoline unit is a larger 7.3-liter V8. It is the latest addition that cranks out 430 hp and 475 lb-ft of twist. Finally, a 6.7-liter V8 diesel is the real king of this engine lineup. This powerful unit is producing 450 horses and 935 lb-ft of torque. However, Blue Oval promised slightly better figures for 2020.
2020 Ford F-250 Platinum Price and Release Date
Interestingly, F-250 pickup is available in 36 different configurations. Still, the Platinum trim level is one of the most popular choices. The 2020 Ford F-250 Platinum will start at $60,000 or slightly below that.
Just to compare, base trim level is priced at $34,000 and range-topping Limited at $70,000. Blue Oval will release its new pickup truck in the coming months.
