A few months ago Blue Oval carmaker released most of the details about the upcoming 2020 Ford Focus. Besides the American soil, new Focus will go on sale in Europe and Asia as well. The forthcoming model will look more stylish and sophisticated. Moreover, Focus comes in three body styles, hatchback, wagon, and four-door sedan. Also, Ford says that the new suspension and new chassis will be in the offer.
Under the hood, the 2020 Focus will hide two EcoBoost engines, and hybrid drivetrain is a possibility. This car is available in four trim levels at the moment: Active, Vignale, Titanium, and ST. The interior will get amazing updates and almost all of the features on this model are electrically-operated.
2020 Ford Focus Exterior Design
For the start, the all-new 2020 Ford Focus looks bigger, but that is not the case. The dimensions will stay intact and this car now looks sleeker and it comes with the style. As we wrote, both new chassis and suspension are all-new. The new platform is Ford’s next-gen modular architecture that will underpin all of the companies smaller cars.
With all of the changes under the skin, Focus will offer less rigidity and better handling. The wheelbase is stretched so the interior will get slightly more room. Latest innovation on this model is hands-free tailgate that opens by swiping your foot under the rear bumper.
New Interior Features
The forthcoming 2020 Ford Focus will get numerous interior updates. For an instance, the room inside the cabin is much greater thanks to the longer wheelbase. Thanks to this change, Focus now offers up to three additional inches of legroom. Fold the rear seats flat and the cargo space will provide 48 cubic feet on hatchback models. Wagon models will provide 58 cubic feet of space.
Moreover, new Focus will benefit from plenty of electrical features and new driver assistance amenities. That includes FordPass Connect, Wi-Fi hotspot, remote door unlocking, and remote start. Furthermore, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Ford’s Sync3 system are all in the offer. When it comes to the driver assistance systems, the 2020 Focus offers Co-Pilot360, adaptive lighting, active park assist and electronic parking brake. We are still waiting for the North American engine lineup, and it is still a mystery what engine will use special Focus ST variant.
Three New Drivetrain Choices
Unfortunately, we don’t know what will power new 2020 Ford Focus. However, Blue Oval automaker did provide some of the details for the European and Asian markets. A 1.0-liter EcoBoost and 1.5-liter EcoBoost engines are in the offer. Moreover, a 2.0-liter diesel unit will become available under the name “EcoBlue” as Ford prefers to call it.
Along with the latest changes, there will be three driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport. Additionally, a hybrid drivetrain is very likely, but that information is not available yet. Expect slightly more power and much better mileage.
2020 Ford Focus Price and Release Date
Blue Oval carmaker decides to give its 2020 Ford Focus plenty of updates. Astonishing interior and classy exterior are visible, along with the new underpinnings and drivetrains. However, the price will stay the same. The all-new Focus will cost around $20,000. Upper trims will cost from $25,000 for the ST variant and 26,000 for the fully-loaded sedan model.
