Ford Teased Us With the 2020 Ford Mustang Hybrid

Ford released a video ad earlier this year for what we believe will be the all-new 2020 Ford Mustang Hybrid. A minute long video featuring Bryan Cranston is very interesting, it shows the Blue Oval’s history of building cars. However, the most interesting moment was definitely a shadowy image of a car with the Mustang badge. We’ve never seen anything similar before, it is clearly the all-new model.
A few years ago, mentioning Mustang Hybrid will cause so many skepticisms. However, after the Interceptor Hybrid arrived and when the world saw its quickness, Mustang Hybrid now sounds like the very realistic outcome. Ford did promise a Mustang with the V8 engine and some rumors are saying the Mustang will undergo serious changes in the near future. It makes sense after all.

Exterior and Interior Specs

The upcoming 2020 Ford Mustang Hybrid will feature almost the same design as the regular model. However, the front end will largely depart because of so many reasons. As we saw on the video ad, the grille strongly suggests something electric with Mustang’s badge glowing blue. The solid fascia largely departs from the traditional Mustang’s open grille. And because Ford did promise the V8 engine in the new Mustang, the car in the video can be an only hybrid model. There is no way this type of grille can cool a powerful unit such as V8. Unfortunately, besides the teaser video, we don’t know anything about the rest of the exterior design.

The interior of the standard Mustang and the interior of the hybrid version will be exactly the same. After all, there is no reason for Blue Oval to spend more money and create two totally different cabins. That means there will be room for four passengers as before. The rear seats will remain tight, but the front seats will offer ample legroom. The 2020 Mustang Hybrid will get a new instrument cluster that is all-digital. New infotainment system and a couple of minor upgrades are expected as well.

Mustang Hybrid Will Produce Over 400 HP

Blue Oval carmaker says the hybrid powertrains will be more efficient than the V8 units. That means the 2020 Ford Mustang Hybrid will get even more power. However, a hybrid version will most likely deploy the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and a single electric motor. A 10-speed automatic gearbox will remain. Without knowing further details, we could just say the Mustang Hybrid will surely produce over 400 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque.

2020 Ford Mustang Hybrid Price and Release Date

The forthcoming 2020 Ford Mustang Hybrid will arrive a couple of months after the regular model. The standard model will hit the roads in the first quarter of 2020. That means the hybrid version will go on sale in the middle of a year. We don’t know the price but Mustang Hybrid will surely cost at least $6,000 more than the standard gasoline model.
