Bronco is almost ready for a huge comeback. And while we know pretty much everything about the 2020 Bronco, we still wonder what the future holds. The 2021 Ford Bronco will surely introduce numerous upgrades.
Logically, after the first version, Ford will need to improve some of the parts. We will take a closer look at the 2021 Bronco and what innovations this SUV could bring. Also, who are Bronco’s competitors and how much it will cost?
Exterior Design
The 2021 Ford Bronco will offer both two and four-door versions. Two-door variant was already spotted during the road tests, so it isn’t a rumor. A more traditional version with four doors is more familiar to the public. This model is based on the Ranger pickup truck. It will borrow Ranger’s platform, but also and much more. For the start, it will wear the “Bronco” name across the front.
Blue Oval automaker likes to offer bold grilles on its newest trucks and SUVs. Bronco will also borrow some cues from its arch rival, Wrangler. That includes removable doors and top. However, Bronco’s side mirrors are attached to the A-pillars. Thanks to that, once you remove the doors, mirrors will stay in place.
Possible Engine Options
The upcoming 2021 Ford Bronco will offer a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. This powerful V6 delivers 325 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be the range-topping option, not the standard engine choice. Besides that, new Bronco SUV will arrive with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. A 10-speed automatic transmission is available.
However, some reports are suggesting a new 7-speed manual gearbox. If this happens, hardcore off-road fans will be more than satisfied. Furthermore, Bronco Hybrid is another very likely outcome. Ford already confirmed that the Bronco will be electrified. However, we are still waiting on more specific and precise details.
Competition
Off-road fans, especially older ones know what market has to offer during the 70s. United States were packed with off-road options. That includes models from GMC, Chevrolet, Dodge, Jeep and Plymouth. Of course, Ford was in the race too. Now, four decades later, the only 4×4 body-on-frame off-road topless SUV is Jeep Wrangler. Now, Bronco will finally become available.
It will be interesting to see this rivalry between the Jeep and Ford. Whatsoever, we just hope it will last for many years. Jeep had the market for itself, however, Ford won’t be the only one that enters the game. According to latest reports, GMC will introduce the all-new model in a two-year time.
2021 Ford Bronco Price and Release Date
Bronco SUV is about to go on sale. The sales will start this year. However, the 2021 Ford Bronco will surely bring a lot of excitement as well. We expect a hybrid drivetrain, numerous body configurations and so much more.
We don’t know what the price will be. On the other hand, we expect the price to start at $30,000. The 2021 Bronco will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2020.
