The upcoming 2021 Ford Focus RS is getting one significant upgrade later this year. It is a hybrid powertrain that will deliver extra power and efficiency. On the other hand, this small car could gain higher safety ratings in 2021.

On the inside, the 2021 Ford Focus RS will offer a couple of premium amenities. That includes a 10-speaker B&O sound system and a wireless phone charging pad. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and digital radio are standard in the RS variant. Additionally, the Blue Oval is offering high-resolution touchscreen and navigation. Heather leather steering wheel, sensor key with push-button start, and leather seats are available too. You can also choose additional safety equipment.
Focus RS comes with numerous driver-assistance systems such as rear cross-traffic alert and a rearview camera. On top of that, lane-keeping assistance and cruise control are standard on this model. LED interior lighting looks impressive, and we strongly recommend it. Lastly, if you want a panoramic sunroof, it is optional, and it costs $2500.
2021 Focus RS Hybrid Powertrain
New 2021 Ford Focus RS will feature a hybrid system. This sporty hatchback will once again deploy a known 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. This time, the gasoline engine is paired to a mild-hybrid setup that will deliver some extra power and efficiency. Besides that, the new Focus RS will switch to the front-wheel-drive system. Currently, this car is producing 350 horsepower, and new 2021 RS with hybrid powertrain should generate around 400 horses.
According to numerous reports, Ford will deploy the “e-Twinster” system developed by GKN Automotive. For that particular reason, a new model will be an RWD model. The same reports are mentioning the Drift Mode as well. Lastly, the Focus RS will offer both six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmission.
2021 Ford Focus RS Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2021 Ford Focus RS will start at $50,000 or slightly below that. We still don’t know how much the hybrid version will cost. The 2021 Focus is a part of the fourth-generation, and if it gets a 400+hp output, Mercedes-AMG A45 seems to be a natural competitor.
To this point, the Focus model has been a forbidden fruit in the U.S. On the other hand, this car is very popular in Australia and especially in Europe. The new model will go on sale in the last quarter of 2020.
