The 2024 Ford Mustang is on the way. This iconic car will make its debut this September at the Detroit Auto Show. Official details are not available yet. However, we saw the first spy photos, new renderings, and more. Whatsoever, some details are already familiar, including the V8 engine. Ford’s CEO said the seventh-gen Mustang will be a stunning car.
We expect to see a lot of upgrades, and the teaser animation already revealed the six-speed manual transmission. As before, this legendary pony car will arrive in a coupe and convertible forms and Blue Oval will offer a choice of two different engines. Without further ado, this is what we know about the new Mustang at the moment.
Exterior Redesign, Spy Shots
As we said, the official image of the 2024 Ford Mustang is not available yet. On the other hand, the first batch of the spy photos is here, along with some interesting renderings. As for the spy shots, it is easy to recognize the Mustang model under the heavy camouflage, with a short deck and longer hood.
The overall shape didn’t change. Blue Oval should provide a couple of important visual upgrades. It is unlikely that we will be seeing another round of spy photographs. This means we’ll have to wait for the official debut, which is soon.
Engine Specs
The next-gen 2024 Ford Mustang will continue to ride on the D2C platform. This means the all-new Mustang will offer the same two powertrain options as the outgoing model. The base engine is 2.3-liter gasoline with 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. However, this engine will gain a boost of 10 hp, per source. The second engine is a 5.0-liter V8 Coyote.
This powertrain is capable of producing 470 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Like the standard engine, the optional one could also gain a small boost in terms of power. Some rumors are predicting a new and more potent V8 engine, but that won’t happen anytime soon. The customers can choose between a 6-speed manual and 10-speed automatic transmissions.
Ford Mustang Hybrid Rumors
The upcoming 2024 Ford Mustang could gain a hybrid powertrain as well. Of course, this is just another rumor. The most likely outcome is that the Mustang Hybrid model will go on sale in 2025. Reportedly, both engines will get a hybrid system, so expect even more power.
Furthermore, Blue Oval carmaker will offer a unique Modular Hybrid Transmission (MHT). The same gearbox is available in the Explorer Hybrid SUV. Reportedly, Mustang Hybrid will allow around 20 miles of all-electric range and this model will offer a standard AWD system with torque vectoring.
2024 Ford Mustang Price, Release Date
The price of the forthcoming 2024 Ford Mustang will start at around $30,000 this time around. Of course, we are waiting to hear more details about the interior upgrades as well.
Generally, this pony car will gain all of the important improvements, so the price will naturally increase. This model will make its debut in September, but the sales will begin at some point in 2023.
