A well-known thing is that the Ford will electrify most of its vehicles in the coming years, and that includes the F-150 pickup truck. The upcoming 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid is confirmed and it will be a part of the company’s strategy for the future. Besides that, the changes in this model will be minor.
The 2020 F-150 Hybrid will arrive with the astonishing and aggressive exterior as always before, so the overall design will carry over. On top of that, the interior will get a technology boost and the rest of the vehicle will stay intact. The hybrid model will offer slightly more power, however, the mileage will see a significant boost. Latest speculations are saying the F-150 Hybrid model will also serve as the mobile generator.
Aggressive Exterior Will Remain
The Blue Oval carmaker feels there is no need to change a winning combination. The exterior of the 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid will look the same as the regular model. With that in mind, Ford applies the same design language to the arriving model. The front end adds an aggressive bumper and the latest set of LED headlights. This pickup will ride on standard 17-inch wheels and the customers can still opt for the longer wheelbase model.
2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid Interior Update
The forthcoming 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid will arrive with more modern cabin than the current model. However, literally, everything will remain. The only updates will happen in the technology and safety departments. Tech-wise, some of the features, including the infotainment system, will get updates. When it comes to safety, active park assist and cruise control will be standard. The rest of the interior will stay the same, so there won’t be changes in legroom or headroom.
Ford F-150 Hybrid Will Act as a Mobile Generator
We had an opportunity to see an official video that shows us the scene where people gather around and watch a football game during a blackout. Furthermore, the video shows us a TV that is plugged into the back of the new F-150.
According to Blue Oval carmaker, the 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid will offer a 400-watt power inverter built-in. That is enough to power a TV, just like in the video. Thanks to this feature, you can use your F-150 to power different types of tools for an example.
Of course, Ford remains silent about the hybrid drivetrain specs. It is hard to predict which engine will be paired with a single electric motor, or two. What we are pretty sure is that the 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid will deliver a class-leading number or at least in line with the Ram 1500 Hybrid model. The electric motor will for sure provide additional horsepower and torque numbers and expect a significant mileage increase.
2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid Price and Release Date
The 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid will cost more than the regular model. Base F-150 model starts at $30,000 so we can expect the price slightly below $40,000. For sure, upper trims such as Limited could cost over $60,000, so we’ll have to wait for official announcement. The hybrid variant will go out at some point in 2020.
