The latest generation of the F-150 truck didn’t bring big updates under the hood. The styling was revised recently. And yes – the Raptor R edition was added. It seems that the company is not paying too much attention to this version, believing it is untouchable. But, the 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor will have more rivals. The GMC Sierra AT4X debuted with new features, and the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will have a more potent hybrid engine under the hood. That should be enough to trigger some move in the Blue Oval company.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor R is the ultimate truck with massive outputs. The next edition is going to carry over everything from its predecessor. The only rival is Ram TRX, while Chevrolet doesn’t intend to throw the Silverado in this game. The Raptor edition is finally coming for the Ranger pickup. Fans of heavy-duty models have to be happy with the Tremor package.
2025 Ford F-150 Raptor Specs
Under the hood of the 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor will be a twin-turbo V6 with high output settings. The truck is getting 450 hp and 510 lb-ft from this unit. Only the VIVs (Very Important Vehicles, such as Lincoln Navigator) are tuned to maximum outputs. But, not all is about these numbers. To handle power and boost off-road experience, the company had to make a lot of other modifications.
The pickup is lifted and the suspension is set to run smooth on every surface. Drive modes are available. Underbody parts are protected by skidplates and the bedliner is a cool addition to the box. The Raptor comes with a 4×4 drive and various assist features. All-terrain tires wrap the unique wheels.
2025 Ford F-150 Raptor R
Everything is on another level with the Raptor R edition. After the debut of the Ram TRX, everyone knew that Ford had to respond. A 5.2-liter engine was a perfect solution and within a few months, the Raptor truck became piled up. A supercharged V8 can produce 700 horsepower. Usually, we say whoever pays a six-digit price for the ride doesn’t care about fuel economy. But, 10/15 mpg can become really annoying with too frequent gas station visits.
Electric Truck and Raptor Package
Next year is a debut season for the F-150 Lightning, the first electric pickup by the Blue Oval company. There will be multiple configurations for this model and the range is 230, 320 and 500 miles per one battery charge. Also, the setup determines horsepower outputs, towing capacity and acceleration. At this point, we know about four trim levels – Pro, XLT, Lariat and Platinum. There is no word about the Raptor truck, but it can be a massive surprise for all the fans. Also, this package can improve the chances of an electric truck in the market where EVs are not quite popular.
Price
The base price of the Raptor truck is increased. Forget about the $50k version, the rig now costs $79,000. The Raptor R adds more than $30,000. Ram TRX can save you some money since it is still priced just under $100k. The gas mileage is the same if that’s important.
