The upcoming 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty was spotted wearing a full camouflage, just outside Ford’s plant in Michigan. The spy shots are showing the two all-new Super-Duty models cruising down the streets. This isn’t the first time we saw Blue Oval testing its pickup trucks and this time, the camo is much thinner.
F-250 Super Duty will arrive with plenty of changes. For the start, most of the upgrades will be mechanical. That includes new powertrain and new transmission. Besides that, the exterior will get a facelift and it will see some further changes. The interior will get additional refinement, but the cabin will mostly remain the same.
Exterior and Interior Changes
Behind the camouflage, the all-new 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty is still showing more than enough. The front end now comes with the false Ram-shaped badge. Don’t fall for it, Ram did something similar recently with the false Ford-shaped badge. The real changes will include a bolder front grille and revised taillights. Some additional aluminum work is present but generally, there is more high-strength steel than anything else. After all, Super Duty pickup trucks are made for higher payload and higher towing capacities.
From the inside, the 2020 F-250 Super Duty will get only smaller refinements. However, the interior looks stylish and functional. The materials are upscale and the level of comfort is high. The layout of the controls is simple and the dashboard features incredible design. The rest of the competition can’t compete with Blue Oval’s design, not even close. On top of that, if you want more luxury, optional features like two-tone leather seats are available. The technology department is another strong point and the list of standard equipment is really long.
New Gasoline Engine Specs
The forthcoming 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty will get plenty of mechanical updates. The most significant updates are definitely a new engine and new transmission. That means the current 6.2-liter V8 will be replaced. The all-new 7.0-liter V8 will replace it. This larger unit will for sure offer more than current’s 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, expect much better fuel economy figures and new 10-speed automatic transmission.
2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel
The diesel engine is also available. This pickup truck is the perfect choice if you want something with great payload and tow rating. So, if you are looking for a real workhorse, diesel powertrain is perhaps the best choice. The 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 will remain in the offer. This engine is delivering 450 horses and up to 935 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to such high torque figures, F-250 Super Duty can tow up to 33,000 pounds.
Price and Release Date
The arriving pickup truck will most likely make its debut later in 2019 as a 2020 model. The 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty will for sure get a slight price increase but no word on pricing yet.
Hi Dan, Where did you hear the 7.0 is replacing the 6.2? The Ford docs I’ve seen state the 7.0 is replacing the 6.8. Which makes sense.
