The F-450 and the rest of the lineup will get new engines, upgraded styling, and much more. The interior will feature more driver assistance technology and comfort is excellent. However, the Platinum trim level is miles ahead of the base trim. For that reason, expect a lot of standard features and plenty of luxury.
Standard Exterior Features
The upcoming 2020 Ford F-450 isn’t the range-topping trim level. Whatsoever, only F-450 Limited is placed above the Platinum model. However, this specific version offers a lot of standard exterior features. Of course, some features such as moonroof or spray-in Bedliner are optional.
On the other hand, LED headlights, fog lights, and taillights are all standard. A LED Box lighting and power and heated mirrors are available too. The Platinum trim level also comes with additional chrome accents and power-lock tailgate.
2020 F-450 Design Upgrades
The striking design is present once again. The 2020 Ford F-450 Platinum will get a handful of visual modifications. On the other hand, some functional updates are also available. The highlight of the 2020 model is undoubtedly a larger grille.
Besides that, the front bumper is redesigned, and taillights are restyled. The new wheel design is standard on the Platinum models. The tailgate is relatively new, and generally, the new F-450 looks very modern and practical.
Interior Features
The cabin of the all-new 2020 Ford F-450 Platinum will also get significant updates. We are not talking about the interior redesign, but about the latest high-tech upgrades. Every Super-Duty model now offers a standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. This system supports up to ten devices at the same time.
On top of that, it supports FordPass Connect functions. However, unlike the base trim level, Platinum offers a premium leather upholstery. The cabin remains practical, and there will be room for five passengers. The Platinum model also provides a lot of standard features. Finally, this model will get new driver-assistance.
New Gasoline V8 Engine
Admittedly, the most significant upgrade of the new Ford Super Duty lineup is a new gasoline engine. It is a 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine that comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. From now on, even the diesel powertrain will use a 10-speed gearbox. New 7.3-liter will serve as an optional gasoline engine on the 2020 Ford F-450 Platinum.
If you don’t want diesel powerplant and you find standard gasoline engine too weak, new V8 is the right answer. On top of that, Ford promises the best towing capacity so far. The 6.2-liter V8 gasoline and 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel are still in the offer. Moreover, those two outputs will carry over in 2020.
2020 Ford F-450 Platinum Price and Release Date
Regular F-450 starts at $45,000. However, the future 2020 Ford F-450 Platinum will cost almost $75,000. The price starts higher than ever before. As a matter of fact, Blue Oval introduced some significant additions to the 2020 Super Duty. Blue Oval plans to release the new 2020 F-450 in the next few weeks.
