We already wrote about the possible discount of Ford Flex. However, new reports are saying that this model will continue with production in the future. The 2021 Ford Flex should introduce plenty of upgrades. It is a must for this full-size SUV due to low sales in recent years. Ford will most likely introduce numerous improvements on this model in 2021.
That includes design changes, interior modernization, and improved performances. Flex won’t suffer a redesign, but some significant changes are about to happen. New Flex will continue to offer a room for seven passengers and its current engine will most likely remain. However, a new optional engine could happen in the near future.
2021 Ford Flex Colors
This full-size SUV comes with numerous color choices. To this moment, Blue Oval automaker offers nine different exterior paints. New color options are a must, but for now, 2021 Ford Flex will surely offer these nine colors: Blue, White Platinum, Oxford White, Stone Gray, and Agate Black.
Also, you can buy Burgundy Velvet, Ingot Silver, Magnetic and Ruby Red. When it comes to interior color schemes, there will be two different options. The customers can choose between Dune and Charcoal Black schemes.
Trim Levels and Packages
The upcoming 2021 Ford Flex will be available in three trim levels. The base SE, mid-range SEL, and range-topping Limited model. The SE trim comes with basic stuff. That includes, HID headlamps and LED taillights, cloth upholstery, and 17-inch silver wheels. SEL models are offering slightly better equipment.
That includes larger displays, 18-inch aluminum wheels, additional cup holders and slightly improved comfort. However, the range-topping Limited model is the real luxury SUV. Flex Limited offers premium stuff only. More importantly, most of the features are standard. All-Weather Floor Mats, Multipanel Vista Roof, silver roof rails and 20-inch Gloss Black wheels are all standard.
On top of that, power liftgate and active park assist are new features. The 2021 Flex also offers two packages. A Class III Trailer Tow Package is standard on the Limited trim. Also, you can buy an optional Appearance Package that looks sportier and even more luxurious.
New Flex SUV will ride on the current engine lineup. That means you can make a choice between two different 3.5-liter engines. First 3.5-liter V6 unit comes as standard. It produces 287 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, you can buy a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. This engine cranks out 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of twist. Both engines are offering a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.
Standard engine comes with a standard FWD and optional AWD setup. EcoBoost V6 offers AWD system as standard. When it comes to fuel economy, standard 3.5-liter provides 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Optional 3.5-liter is rated at 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
Ford Flex Price and Release Date
When it arrives, the 2021 Ford Flex will cost slightly higher than the current model. The base SE trim level starts at $31,000 and SEL at $34,000. The range-topping Flex Limited is priced at $40,000. Blue Oval’s full-size SUV will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2019.
