Ken Block is doing it again. Block already made the headlines earlier this year when he announced its astonishing Ford Escort RS Cosworth. This rally driver went for the New England Forest Rally, but unfortunately, his new Escort got burned. Now, Block is willing to try again with its New Ford Escort RS Cosworth.
Two days ago, Ken Block wrote on his Facebook page that the all-new model is coming. It is the similar Escort RS but it will arrive with some key improvements. He also wrote that he will take it on a world tour in 2019. Moreover, the whole adventure will be documented by “Hoonigan” that will produce multi-episode series on its YouTube channel. Block says the New Ford Escort RS Cosworth will be known under the name “The Cossie”.
New Ford Escort RS Cosworth Specs
From what we know, the exterior of the New Ford Escort RS Cosworth Specs will stay intact. It means the side-exit exhaust pipes will remain and numerous suspension setups will feature as well. In one interview, Ken Block said the problem with his car crash was in the transmission. The previous model came with a 7-speed sequential transmission. Some tweaks will happen to a gearbox, but there is no reason to change from 7-speed to higher amount of shifts. For now, we saw a teaser image that is actually a silhouette.
We can’t see the overall design and styling cues, but the overall shape is the same, for sure. The previous model came with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This unit was delivering 227 horses. Block wrote on his Facebook page that some key changes will happen. It could mean the new engine will happen, which suggests more horsepower figures. The top speed was rated at 150 mph and the Escort RS Cosworth could hit from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds.
