The all-new 2021 Ford Everest is coming to the markets in the second half of 2020. We shouldn’t expect significant changes this time. This SUV is based on the mid-size Ford Ranger pickup. Everest offers a room for seven passengers and a three-row seating layout. Everything inside looks modern, and comfort is at the admirable level. Moreover, the cabin is very spacious, and that also includes the cargo area.
The exterior is more robust than before, but Everest SUV will remain stylish as always before. The third-gen Everest is present since the last year so everything will look fresh. That’s the main reason why we won’t see significant changes. Still, rumors about the Everest Raptor version are getting hotter.
2021 Everest Exterior and Interior Updates
The forthcoming 2021 Ford Everest won’t change that much. As we said, the third-gen Everest has been introduced last year. For that reason, most of the 2021 Everest is a carryover. However, small changes will happen. As for the visual upgrades, the front fascia will gain slightly more chrome accents. Moreover, Everest will gain more optional equipment and more lightweight materials. New 19-inch alloy wheels are optional and are looking great.
On the inside, Everest will look very modern. Comfort is great, and the cabin looks upright. Moreover, the interior provides a lot of space. That includes ample legroom and generous cargo area. There will be three rows of seats and a room for seven occupants. Everest will get new accents on the dashboard and a slightly longer list of standard features. The infotainment system is updated to its latest version, and you could also expect more driver-assistance aids. However, those aids will most likely be optional on the base trim level.
Ford Everest Sport and Everest Raptor
As with any other SUV, sportier versions and trim levels are a must. Currently, Everest offers one. The 2021 Ford Everest Sport will be a very popular buying option once again. This version comes with dark-themed visual upgrades, and it slots between the Trend and Titanium trim levels. The Everest Sport is available with two engine options, a 3.2-liter five-cylinder and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Both engines are diesel, because Everest is mainly sold in Australia. The 2021 Everest Sport comes with the black front grille, black wheels, bi-LED headlights, and various visual upgrades. Unique 20-inch alloy wheels, Sport badging, and new Deep Crystal Blue exterior paint are all available.
As for the rumored Everest Raptor version, here’s how the new model could look alike. There is not much to guess about the Raptor variant. It will gain the same type of upgrades as the Ranger Raptor. That includes the same exterior treatment with exclusive grille and frame-mounted bumpers. Large letterings, 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, and more aggressive bodywork are a must. The rear end will gain a two-piece bumper, body-colored sections, and unique frame-mounted lower section.
The 2021 Ford Everest will feature the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. This diesel provides 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. A 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel will be optional. It will generate 200 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of twisting power. Lastly, a 2.2-liter four-cylinder with 150 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque will be available on some markets. You can also choose between a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
