Generally, Ford will build the next-gen Mustang from the ground up. First reports indicated that the CD6 platform will be in use. This means the rear-wheel-drive setup will come as standard. And while we can’t see a new suspension or a rumored new engine, it seems that the next Mustang will be larger than its predecessor. The spied prototype shows the Mustang S650 with the redesigned front fascia. New lights are visible, along with new bumpers, etc. The interior will gain a new dashboard that won’t depart from the current one in terms of design and position. However, the cabin design will be simpler and more modern, while maintaining that old-school vibe.
Interior Changes
The interior of the 2024 Ford Mustang S650 will offer a big 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. On top of that, a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen is available and it dominates the cabin. Blue Oval will also provide new graphics, and we believe that the infotainment system will be more user-friendly. A leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel comes as standard, and it looks closer to the steering wheel inside the Mustang GT. Ford also added USB-C ports, while some physical buttons are completely removed.
Blue Oval carmaker truly focused on delivering a modern interior with bigger screens, an optional wireless charging pad, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. On top of that, the Mustang S650 will come with Slippery, Normal, Track, Sport, Drag, and Custom driving modes.
Another interesting upgrade is the digital instrument cluster. From now on, there will be five different designs, so each driver can customize the cluster in a unique way. Generally, the cabin is now equipped with more modern stuff, and premium materials, so the comfort is also better than before.
Ford Mustang S650 Engine Specs
As we said, the next-gen 2024 Ford Mustang S650 will get a new engine. The CD6 platform will underpin this model, while it also supports Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer SUVs. Both versions are offering hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. And while the mid-size Explorer is using a 3.3-liter V6 gas engine, the Mustang should pair an electric motor with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. This means that the AWD system could be offered for the first time in Ford Mustang.
This is not official yet, but Mustang will grow in size, so AWD makes perfect sense. You can find a lot of rumors regarding the all-electric Mustang. However, the only electric Mustang will be the Mach-E crossover, at least for the next couple of years. On the other hand, plug-in hybrid is happening for sure. While we are waiting to hear official details, the Mustang Shelby GT500 will certainly use a 5.2-liter V8 supercharged engine, which will help him produce around 760 horsepower, which is insane.

Yes, a minor price increase is on the way, but this iconic muscle car should start at just over $30,000.
