Preview: 2025 Ford F-150 Will Still Dominate

There are many things why the F-150 is the best truck in the world. Its performance is hard to match thanks to a wide choice of engines – from a turbo-four unit, up to a mighty V8 with 700 hp. Now, there is an electric pickup as well. The vehicle comes with numerous options. Building the 2025 Ford F-150 will be more than fun. For whatever purpose you need it – working, adventuring, everyday driving – Ford will offer a perfect configuration.

At higher trim levels the truck is using advanced technologies. Raptor was a unicorn in the truck market, and now the Raptor R competes with the Ram TRX in the 700+ hp class. The durability of the F-150 trucks is legendary. Even if you need to get rid of the pickup, the resale value is great. The only truck that is more valuable is Toyota Tundra.

Well, some truckers will still question the dominance of the Blue Oval in the industry. But, the truckmaker is ready to push the limits with the new 2025 Ford F-150. A few modifications will be enough to draw attention once again to the model that sells in nearly 1 million examples every year.

2025 Ford F-150 Changes

The company is not announcing plans for the 2025 Ford F-150 yet. Fans are already suggesting what should be changed to keep the dominance of the legendary truck. The F-150 is in the 13th generation and there are more options than ever. Still, there are some downsides that can make the full-size truck even better. Of course, engineers are working on small issues owners are reporting every week. The most common problems are cabin heating defects and spark plug ejection from the cylinder head. Trailer software can be updated as well to make work more convenient.

Compared to the competition, those are not big things. Rivals might be more reliable in some segments, but overall, the F-150 is the best truck out there. The 2025 YM is just going to cement the #1 spot.

F-150 Lightning and the New Electric Truck

The EV is advertised as the 2024 YM, but the official page still says “pre-orders”. The vehicle might be there for the next season, but we will see the full potential of the new concept on the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning. There will be a few drivetrain configurations with two or three battery choices, performance tunings, and ranges. For now, we know there will be variants with 230 and 320 miles. The towing capacity is going to exceed 10,000 pounds.

In the meantime, Ford is working on a new electric pickup. We know its codename is Project T3 and it might be Ranger Lightning EV. It is a smaller model with a more affordable price, but capacities will be far away from the F-150 Lightning.

Raptor R – Better Than Raptor

For a long time, the Raptor was a synonym for off-road dominance in the truck segment. There’ve been a few Raptor-killers, but only the Ram TRX Hellcat managed to overthrone the Ford. But not for too long. The Raptor R is equipped with a turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 700 horsepower. These are high-performance trucks that draw attention but can’t manage so many sales. Expensive parts and upgrades increase the final price. The 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor R won’t cost under $110,000.

If this is too much, you can always save around $30,000 by purchasing a regular Raptor. The company revisited the drivetrain. Now, a 3.5-liter V6 engine also features a hybrid system, but not for the off-road edition, where it keeps 450 hp and 510 lb-ft. Limited package is tuned to burst 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque with a hybrid system using the same petrol plant.

Verdict

Some upgrades will make the 2025 Ford F-150 even better and keep the distance from the competition. The company dropped a diesel engine after only a few years. The focus is now on electric pickup trucks. Not only that F-150 Lightning is coming out, but also the Ram Revolution and Silverado EV. This is going to be the new era in trucking and we can’t guess how it ends. One thing is sure – diesel pickups are almost exterminated. Sooner or later, the same will happen with petrol units and a complete electrification will happen after 2030. Ford is going to be in an excellent position with the Lightning truck already coming out.

All in all, there will be something for every kind of buyer. The base price is starting at $34,000, so it is all about your preferences and budget. Standard Raptor is now significantly more expensive than before and in 2025 it might cost even higher. Ford is considering launching of the premium truck under the Lincoln branch, but it won’t be Mark LT, but the Navigator-based pickup.
