Second-Generation 2019 Lincoln Aviator Gets a Hybrid Powertrain

Firstly introduced exactly 15 years ago, Aviator was dubbed as a mid-size SUV. Canceled in 2005, the 2019 Lincoln Aviator is coming back to start a second-generation. This SUV will arrive with a stunning power, hybrid engine, and upscale exterior design.

Aviator slots between the Nautilus and Navigator models and it were showcased at the 2018 New York International Auto Show. We saw a glimpse of the latest Lincoln’s model and it will look perfect. A multifunctional steering wheel is a great addition as you can now control all of the infotainment functions.

The cabin is finished in a Lincoln’s Black Label theme and color schemes like Lunar Gray and Shearling Beige are looking gorgeous. When it hits the markets, the 2019 Lincoln Aviator will use a V6 twin-turbo powertrain as a standard. This potent engine is capable of producing up to 450 hp. Moreover, it offers a 10-speed automatic transmission. New Aviator will also ride on the same platform as the latest Ford Explorer model. On the other hand, Aviator was a rear-wheel drive model but thanks to the new platform an all-wheel drive will be optional. According to Lincoln’s claims, this SUV will be the smoothest and quietest model so far.

Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

The Aviator will use a plug-in hybrid system for the first time. The system operates on a battery power and it is combined with the V6 engine. Whatsoever, the output numbers are yet to be released, but we can expect the same amount of power, however, fuel economy should be additionally boosted.

The second-generation 2019 Lincoln Aviator will cost slightly above $50,000 which slots this SUV between the Nautilus and Navigator models. Lincoln’s latest SUV will go on sale in the first half of 2019. However, the Aviator will see tough competition in Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90.
